TÜBİTAK

In order to encourage research and promote technology and innovation, TÜBİTAK-TEYDEB continues to provide support to the industry and SMEs. Some of these support programs include:

•1501 – Industrial R&D Projects Support Program

•1507 – SME R&D Initial Support Program

•1503 – Project Market Support Program

•1508 – Technology and Innovation-Based Enterprises Support Program (Techno-entrepreneurship)

1501 – Industrial R&D Projects Support Program

This program has been carried out since 1995 in cooperation between TÜBİTAK and the Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade (DTM). It aims to encourage Research and Development (R&D) activities of organizations that create added value at the firm level, thereby contributing to enhancing the R&D capabilities of Turkish industry.

1503 – Project Market Support Program

This program supports events organized to bring together representatives from universities, research institutions, and industrial organizations, where participants can share concrete project proposals and explore potential collaboration opportunities. Only universities and research institutions are eligible to apply for this program.

1505 – University–Industry Collaboration Support Program (TEYDEB)

According to the implementation principles of this program, a Collaboration Agreement must be signed between the Private Sector Organization (referred to as the Customer Organization) and the university or public research institution (referred to as the Executing Organization). Within the framework of this agreement, the Executing Organization will carry out activities such as producing a new product, improving an existing one, enhancing product quality or standards, or developing cost-reducing techniques or new production technologies. The project will be jointly financed by TÜBİTAK and the Customer Organization.

1507 – SME R&D Initial Support Program

The basic strategy developed within SME-oriented strategies and action plans is based on increasing the productivity, share in added value, and international competitiveness of SMEs. In Turkey, a significant portion of R&D activities are limited to large-scale enterprises, while R&D activities among SMEs, which make up 98% of the country’s industry, remain below desired levels. To achieve the above-mentioned strategic goals, TÜBİTAK has designed and implemented a differentiated support program tailored to the R&D and innovation projects of SMEs, in line with market conditions and obligations under international agreements.
